Firmly believing that even a small company can achieve great change, the company’s goal is to contribute in reducing the environmental footprint of the entire industrial sector by nudging it in a more ecological direction. As such, they are devoted to developing and manufacturing yarns, fabrics and prêt-à-porter clothes from recycled fibres. Their Pure Waste brand logo is a guarantee that recycled fibres are the only materials used to make product.
The innovations created by Mindful Goods Made and Pure Waste have proven that prevailing textile industry practices can change. To this end, the company is committed to continuing to lead the way as pioneers towards enacting positive, future impact within the industry.
ORIGINS
Based in Helsinki, Finland
Inspired by a deeply ingrained Nordic recycling culture, Pure Waste Textiles has always been committed to providing high-quality products made of recycled fibres.
After trying to source fabric made from 100% recycled fibres without success, Pure Waste Textiles took on the work of developing it themselves. In 2013, the company developed its first batch of fabric made entirely from recycled fibres and Pure Waste was launched.
THE PROCESS
100% Recycled Fabrics
Pure Waste products are made of 100% recycled fibres. There is no virgin material at all used in manufacturing.
Production is based on collecting and recycling cutting waste generated by India’s textile industry. The collected cutting waste is sorted, processed and manufactured into high-quality textile products.
THINK AGAIN
Think Again is the company’s philosophy for challenging themselves and the industry to rethink things from a fresh perspective. Creating a more ecological textile industry requires widespread change. Changing how we do things requires changing how we think. So Mindful Goods Made is working on informing consumers about the negative impact of the textile industry as an encouragement to reflect on consumption habits.
They are also challenging themselves to think of better, more sustainable solutions for operations in production, sales and logistics. Questioning norms and tradition within the textile industry, Mindful Goods Made asks us all: How can we do this differently and more positively for good?
