About cmc

California Market Center (CMC) is the hub of the West Coast Fashion, Creative, and Entertainment Industries, home to elevated Showrooms, Events, Creative Offices, and Businesses connecting the global community.

Built in 1963 by the Morse family as the first wholesale fashion marketplace west of the Mississippi, “California Mart” quickly became the primary center for fashion business in Los Angeles. Now comprising three towers that span more than 1.8 million square feet, CMC has a proud history in the global fashion industry as the heartbeat of the Los Angeles Fashion District.

The iconic CMC property was acquired by Brookfield Properties in 2017 and entered an exciting 3-phase, $2.5-million redevelopment of its campus.

With renovations completed in December 2021, the newly transformed CMC is an architecturally award-winning, mixed-use creative complex featuring Fashion Showrooms and Events in Building C, as well as Creative Offices in Buildings A & B.

As a prominent Los Angeles events venue, CMC is also host to a year-round calendar of tradeshows, conferences, market pop-ups, and special events.

Today’s CMC continues to build upon its 62-year fashion industry legacy and welcomes a global community of creatives, brand-builders, and visionaries.
