DTLA Insider's Guide to Visiting Downtown During LA Market Week

We took a quick zip around CMC’s Neighborhood with our friend Media Moussavy of DTLA Insider to see his recommended spots for CMC Buyers to visit

while in the LA Fashion District during LA Markets.

NICE KICKS • Boutique and venue where fashion, music, and art coexist. A must for sneakerheads, featuring excusive drops and collaborations with iconic brands. Located across from CMC’s 9th Street Plaza.

THE DOLL HOUSE LA • Located where the Fashion and Flower Districts intersect, this gem features custom and upcycled apparel and is a must for exploring LA streetstyle fashion trends.

POPPY + ROSE LA • Featuring a rooftop oasis in the middle of Downtown LA, the Poppy + Rose Patio is the newest outdoor, picnic style brunch spot serving Classic American, Southern-inspired cuisine made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Proudly located in the historic downtown LA flower market.

THE ORIGINAL LOS ANGELES FLOWER MARKET • Historic LA market features a range of vendors with flowers, plants & supplies and is open to the public. Visit their amazing plant and succulent vendors to take one of their natural blooms as an LA keepsake home with you.

SONORATOWN • Lunch at Sonoratown is a must during your visit, located just two blocks from the CMC. Serving authentic Northern Mexican style tacos with grilled meats and vegetables in a tiny yet stylish eatery, Sonoratown is the LA Fashion District’s favorite spot for tacos, burritos and aguas frescas.

IL CAFFE • Located just a block away from CMC, this LA outpost of a Swedish coffee shop is great for an afternoon break for fine coffee, wine, sandwiches and pastries, featuring sidewalk cafe tables for great people watching and quintessential DTLA-cool in an iconic spot: at the base of the Eastern Building.

AESOP • Treat yourself and stop at this DTLA fave for self-care: high-end skincare products & gift kits, plus home & body fragrances.

BROKEN SHAKER AT THE FREEHAND HOTEL • An oasis in the heart of Downtown LA, Broken Shaker, located on our rooftop pool deck, offers an eclectic menu of handcrafted cocktails and small bites. A James Beard Award finalist and winner of Tales of the Cocktail’s Best American Hotel Bar award, Broken Shaker serves up delicious cocktails, infused with homemade elixirs and exotic ingredients, bringing the flavors of the beach to the center of the city.

ZINQUE • Whether you want to end the day with dinner, drinks or great coffee, Zinque is a great stop to rest in a stylish setting located next to Ace Hotel and one block from the CMC, for French-inspired dishes and small plates and a uniquely curated wine and beer selection.

DOWNTOWN LA PROPER • This re-imagined historic landmark is not only an exquisite boutique hotel with interiors designed by Kelly Wearstler, it is filled with gorgeous art in every nook and cranny, plus Caldo Verde, recognized as Los Angeles Best New Restaurant of 2022 by LA Magazine, as well as Cara Cara, noted as one of the sexiest Rooftop Bars & Restaurants in Los Angeles by Thrillist LA.
